Nella tarda estate o inizio autunno del 1895 (la data non è certa) Guglielmo Marconi riuscì a trasmettere i tre punti della lettera “S” in alfabeto Morse da Villa Griffone ad un ricevitore posto a più di un miglio di distanza e dietro un ostacolo naturale, la collina detta dei Celestini. Questo evento viene ritenuto l’inizio delle trasmissioni radio nel mondo.

Cento anni fa le associazioni dei Radioamatori di tutto il mondo decisero di dare vita ad un organismo che le potesse rappresentare. Nacque così la I.A.R.U., International Amateur Radio Union, di cui l’A.R.I. è unica filiazione per l’Italia.

Al fine di celebrare sia il 130° anniversario dell’invenzione della radio, che i 100 anni della I.A.R.U, l’A.R.I. – Associazione Radioamatori Italiani - indìce un diploma radioamatoriale denominato “Diploma 130-100” ovvero 130 anni di radio e 100 anni della I.A.R.U.

Dal 15 settembre al 15 ottobre 2025 saranno presenti sulle bande radioamatoriali HF diverse stazioni attivatrici A.R.I. come segue:

In the late summer or early autumn of 1895 (the date is uncertain), Guglielmo Marconi succeeded in transmitting the three dots of the letter "S" in Morse code from Villa Griffone near Bologna to a receiver located more than a mile away and behind a natural obstacle, the so-called Celestini Hill. This event is considered the beginning of radio transmissions in the world.

One hundred years ago, amateur radio associations around the world decided to create a body to represent them. Thus was born the I.A.R.U., the International Amateur Radio Union, of which the A.R.I. is the only Italian affiliate.

To celebrate both the 130th anniversary of the invention of radio and the 100th anniversary of the IARU, the ARI – Italian Radio Amateurs Association – is announcing an Amateur Radio Award called "The 130-100 Award," meaning 130 years of radio and 100 years of the IARU.

From September 15 to October 15, 2025, many ARI activating stations will be present on the HF amateur radio bands, as follows:
